The brief
Macizo is tequila built on a real story. Jalisco and Chicago, two cultures, one bottle. Three expressions, a premium price point, and a brand that lives on how it looks.
Most spirits sites gate at the server, so a search engine arrives, meets the gate, and indexes nothing. The gate should be a door, not a wall.

The constraint
Alcohol is one of the hardest categories on the web, and the reasons compound. A compliant age gate sits between every visitor and the site. Premium spirits sell on imagery, and imagery is what destroys load times: this build carries a 52-image gallery. Ad platforms restrict where a spirits brand can run at all, which puts more weight on the site than on the campaign around it.
Most sites in the category settle this by being slow and beautiful. That costs search ranking and mobile visitors, the two things a young brand can least afford to lose.

What we built
The entire site, design through deploy. Compliant age verification. Three expressions (Blanco, Reposado, Añejo), each with tasting notes, proof, and a serve. A brand timeline running 2020 to now. Three signature cocktail recipes. A 52-image gallery.

The decisions
The age gate is a door, not a wall. It renders as an overlay on top of a page that is already server-rendered, so crawlers can reach the story, the expressions, and the cocktails without meeting the gate. Visitors still meet the gate before they enter.
The visuals were never traded for the speed. Image optimization serves modern formats at the right size per device, so a 52-image gallery survives intact and the site still loads.
The brand story is a scroll, not an About page. For a brand whose premium argument is where it came from, burying the origin costs margin.

Your turn.
